Golf Drives

Your golf drives, how you hit the ball from long fairway shots, to putting the ball, all affect how you play the game of golf. Each hole on a golf course is designed differently. That’s why holes have different degrees of difficulty and differnt par numbers associated with them. It’s also what makes the game a challenge, so if you were told which club to use at every hole, the challenge would be gone!

As you master the rudiments of golf, such as your golf drives and which club to use on a certain hole, you will see your game improve. It is important that you understand why there are numbers on your clubs and what they will do for your game. For example, a 9-iron will get a lot more low air and go a shorter way, while a 4- iron will fly a further distance closer to the ground.

Golf pros on TV make it look too easy by always hitting the ball onto the green without any shots into the woods or worse yet, missing the ball completely! Being able to drive your ball properly is a key essential to playing the great game of golf. Going to a driving range and practicing is a great idea to improve your swing and driving distance.

You need to try all your clubs and find out which one works best for your golf drives. Ask for help from a professional golfer by taking lessons. They will show what is right and what is wrong with what you are doing. If you can get a grip (pun intended) on how you drive the ball onto the green, then you will see a marked difference in your score and how you feel about the game.

Playing golf can be a lot of fun, but it’s even more fun when you can brag about your score!. The only way you will do this is if you are consistent and practice your techniques.

There are many aspects to golf in which a player needs to be good at to get a low score. That’s the beauty of the game where one minute you are belting the ball a long distance down the fairway, and the next, leaning over the ball for a gentle tap into the hole. For a good start to the game you need to hit the ball a long way so here are some golf driving tips.

On your first shot take a deep breath and relax because for many golfers the first hit off the tee can set the standard for the day. Something else that can set the standard for the day is your health and fitness. Not only do you walk long distances during a game but you need to be strong in your upper body to swing the club hard. You also need to be strong in the lower part of your body to hold that stance in place whilst your weight is shifting from one side to the other. As for the middle, well that’s important too. I was given my set of clubs by my father in law because his back just could not cope with the all that movement. So in terms of importance for golf driving tips this one is probably number one.

Today, drivers are being built bigger and technically smarter to drive the ball longer so you would think with those huge heads that one club would suit all. Wrong. I purchased a Big Bertha for my brother as a birthday gift and every time he used it he pushed the ball left and right with no distance or direction. After a few months he handed the club over to my younger brother and that suited his game. The tip here is to purchase your Big Bertha from a golf shop with a practice area. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance because what you get on that day could add 20, 50 or 100 meters to your tee shot.

They say practice makes perfect but for golf that’s not enough. You can practice for hours but if your stance or swing aren’t right then what’s the use. Also, because it’s such a technical game, the slightest error in your swing, stance or grip can reduce the driving by a number of meters. So to re-phrase that, “perfect practice makes perfect”. You need to learn the proper swing from the start, otherwise you’ll never get the errors out of your game as easily as at the beginning. I could right down everything you need to do but the best way is golf lessens. An instructor could pick up your errors on the first swing, so learn the right way to hit the ball then practice the exact instructions you were given.

Don’t forget to have fun.
