There is no need to be embarrassed about enrolling in golf school! However easy it may look to the outsider, golf is a difficult game. It takes practice, skill and expert tuition to play well.
When you first start out you may be tempted to think that it does not matter how well you play. Some new golfers make the mistake of thinking they will learn by playing, and they do not need any lessons at all. They quickly realize, however, that the game can be extremely frustrating when you do not know how to correct a bad swing or a persistent slice.
There is nothing better than having a skilled teacher showing you how to do your swing or how to putt well. Without proper supervision, you might have to spend a lot of time and energy trying to learn all of it on your own, only to find that it is almost impossible for you to get it by yourself. You really need a mentor. Someone who will tell you what to do and correct you if you’re doing something wrong.
So the wise golfer enrolls in golf school right from the start. They are not cheap, but definitely worth it because you are trained by great professionals who will actually tell you what to pay attention to and also show you how to play so that you don’t have to be embarrassed of yourself.
A good golf school will often provide coaching, classes, or individual courses. What those places are actually trying to do is they are trying to cater to as many people as they can, so within one school you will often find different kinds and types of classes available. If you are into theoretical knowledge before you start practicing, they should be able to accommodate you. If on the other hand you would like to just practice because you believe that practice makes perfect, they will be able to get a good program for you as well, with supervision as you go around the course.
The fees in those schools dependent on the character of their classes. Obviously individual classes with a private teacher are much more expensive than group classes, but you will learn a lot more from them. During a one on one lesson, the tutor will actually look at you play, or try to play should I say, and he will be able to give you specific instructions on how to improve your game in the best way and the shortest amount of time.
It is best to aim for a golf school where you will have at least some individual attention. Although this may seem more expensive, it could work out cheaper because you will not need so many lessons. Remember too that even if you skip golf school you still have to pay for your time on the course while you are learning.
Bad habits easily become engrained and if you try to save money by not having lessons in the beginning, you may finish up needing a lot more tuition to correct your mistakes. The interesting thing is that often times, by the time you do learn how to play, you will have spent more money than you would on the actual classes. So enrolling in golf school may end up saving you money as well as time.
